I hate helmets, mostly 3/4 and full as the engine and exhaust noise gets caught up under them. I ride and feel quite safe with either of a couple of my high tech carbon fiber kayaking helmets, and the sound just goes right up by my head instead of inside the lid, as my ears are not under the lid.
After 5 1/2 years on this scoot, I did just pick up a Bilt Modular for riding in the rain and the upcoming western state ride as I will be riding through a few helmet states. I just mounted the Sena in the Bilt and I believe it might be the trick for this trip. I'll still carry a kayak skid lid with me as well for me, potential passengers and paddling excursions ...
