Fat Cat header and a Supertrapp muffler has been good to me. Making good power and easy on my ears.

I don't know about all SE mufflers, but I know the ones I chose, and the fast shots are EPA stamped

The H-D Fatshotz in stock form do not breathe enough for use on a 110 engine. So saith H-D...

The Fatshotz are not EPA certified with the 110, but they flow just fine for it. Especially with a few extra discs.

HD lyeth because they don't knoweth.
They will flow WAY more than the stock CVO mufflers will and will be 1db quieter. Trust me on this, I've done the testing

I took the stock system altogether and put Vance & Hines complete system on mine. The sound was not bad at all.
I got too much heat from the catalytic converter on my foot.

Old thread I know but I'm running CVO muffs on my FLH with a 120" motor.....sounds nice to me...not too loud and just enough bark to make folks notice if I want.

2015 CVO cans on a DX headpipe here. Couldn't be happier with the sound.

I've been running the CVO cans with fullsac 1.75" baffles for quite a while now.
Had V&H true duals on the 'b', too. Bike was fairly quiet with a pleasing exhaust note. Put the stock headpipes back on after the fresh 95" build last fall. Bike is much quieter now. Still has a nice note to it, but much less 'droney'. I think I like it better now.

Be interesting to see what the change may be when I get it put back together. Anticipate it may be a little louder, but not sure how noticeable.

I have one of the new Magnaflow Performer 2-1's laying on the garage shelf. Not impressed with their 18mm bung location. I need to fix that and try it out. I definitely like quieter more and more. |
