We've done plenty of compaction jobs with rubber tired equipment. Usually we run with a full bucket, tho. Adds more weight to the machine.
As long as they compacted the pad in short lifts, it should be plenty tight to hold the shop floor. Looks like they rolled the pad after it was finished, too. What'd they use-dump truck or pickup? We usually use a loaded dump truck at the end of the day. Six-wheeler is preferred over a semi, but I've done plenty with a loaded semi. Good backup practice, I reckon...... Don't matter much as long as the top is tight. It'll help the water to run off. Just curious, and I can't tell from the pictures, but is the north end close to existing grade? Looks like your yard is has good pitch to the south, but that valley between the house and shop is gonna funnel a lot of water, when it rains. You gonna ease the transition somewhat from house to shop in the future?

Looks like you'll have room for quite a few of us when it's finished

Yeah I've been pondering the new creek. I'll have to add gutters on the shop and the house there, and we've been discussing placing a ton of large river rock in the area. The deck will likely be redone and since the shop slab is just a bit lower, probably extended to go straight across.Or maybe arched....OR maybe... a drawbridge Quote:

I made another addition to the shop-that-doesn't-exist: I picked up a two-post lift! It's a Worth brand, actually a true Made in USA product! manufactured in Mansfield, TX.

And........so, this Other Thing is Happening
It's 9000ACF so, there it is.
One thing for sure, it sure seems much heavier than some of those Chinese lifts..... but any of them would still do everything that I need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My state supplied 9 K one was really saggy when lifting a 7 K Patrol Ford Expedition. (Took one to the local dump and put on scale).
But the powers that be accepted a made in China one, because it met the small (in) state vendor requirements. What a fight...! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

I'm liable to fab somethin up!
Some exciting news today! The City of Longview has APPROVED my plan and Building Permit!!! We are now officially *PROCEEDING*! Placed material order, truly expect the first deliveries on Tuesday and post holes Wednesday! I swear it's actually going to happen! It is actually very likely that I will have a building by Memorial Day!. It won't likely have the concrete in it until a week or so later.
