Installing Quiet Baffles in Rinehart TD's

Sad isn't it?

Anyways... more mid range = a good thing for cruising. Plus; if I go over 500 miles in a day it starts to hurt the ol' noggin.

Anything to it? Just remove the caps and pull out the standard baffles then put in the quiet ones? (tugged at them a while .. think I'll have to take the pipe off and pound them out from the other side if that's the case)

Wondering if there's anything holding them in there besides the caps and sliding into the front part of tailpipe.

mmmm

After the caps are off and if they're still tight in there might try a broom handle up inside and wiggle it around while pulling on an edge of the baffle with some Vice Grips. But don't use the little womans favorite broom.

If the caps don't seat fully for the screw holes to line up with the muffler you might want to file some materal off of one end of the baffles.
I still worry about the noise police even with my quiet baffles installed. Bastages, but more torque = nice.

Got them in. The 'old' baffles were stuck in there really really good; ran them by the dealer and they pulled them for 15 mins labor (worth it!).

I like the sound even better; more of a V-twin lope instead of a 'bang bang'.

A LOT LESS PINGING (almost completely gone)
