Oct '82, 3706 BMTS, flight 379 (I think). TI was a Buck Sgt named Luis Colon. I remember him bragging about all of his APRs being 9s. I think he also had 9 year TIS. I'd rip the a$$ out of any of my NCOs for treating an Airman the way he treated us.

Probably the funniest thing that happened while I was there was the one guy who brought a case of crabs with him.

Check out this link for a collection of BMTS Flight photos.

C-Rats....when we would be deployed, you only eat the beans & mother****ers or what ever else was the 'main course can' in the c-rat.
Wouldn't eat anything else in the box...you would never have to take a dump, not for 10 days...get back on-site, eat one can of fruit from one of the c-rat boxes, you would spend the next hour on the crapper (bring a book, lots of TP, and flush often).
TMI?

Add water to the bag that chicken is in, fold top several times tape shut and your meal for tomorrow is ready.

I was in an Infantry unit in Pendleton (Camp Horno) my last year in the Corps. We were in the field three days a week. All we had were C-Rats. I saw a couple MRE's but they were "experimental". Actually, I liked C-Rats...some more than others. But they weren't all that bad. If you're cold and hungry you'll eat pretty much anything and like it, too.

But then I don't remember the gas chamber being all that bad either. Time does strange things to one's memory.
