Why use a high-lift cam
When the CFM is the same at .500 as .600? It seems to me that a high ramp with a quick drop and a .500-520. smooth peak would work as well and wouldn't need super springs. It seems that the strong springs just rob HP.

Steep ramps still require stiff springs however I concur with your other point
