My daughter dropped her Blackberry and now the display doesn't work......Is there some place that repairs them, or is she shit out of luck?

Did it hit hard enough to show damage to the case? If not, then it sounds like it could reasonably considered normal wear and tear (we have all dropped our phone at some time). If that is the case and she has had it less than one year, I would call customer service or go to a retail store and request a warranty exchange. If it has been more than one year since you bought it but less than two years, I would look on craigslist for a new or used one. If it has been more than two years, I would go get a new one at the store on the promo rate that come with a contract extension. I would not let anyone attempt a repair.

Oh, I would dry it out before attempting warranty exchange if it was dropped in water.
I know one guy that got an exchange even though they opened it up and water ran out, but he got a reeeeallydirty look and they must have been in a good mood.

I think she has had it over a year, but our phone service would not insure it when she got it...........

We have recently started to offer insurance on Blackberry devices but still not iPhones. If it turns out she has had it more than a year, the craigslist option is probably your best bet.
