Fingerless Gloves

Question: What is the benefit of fingerless over, fully fingered gloves?

My fingers are an in-between length. Large gloves are just a bit too small (short) and put a lot of pressure on my figertips making them sore after a long ride. XL gloves are way too big and keep me from getting a safe grip on the control. Fingerless are a good comprimise for me.

Nail on the head. On top of that, my fingerless gloves (actually, my lightweight fingered gloves too) have gel palms, so it's more comfortable than going without.

And I can pick my nose.

I have a pair of fingerless gloves, but I don't wear them. They'll do you absolutely no good if you hit the pavement.

Deerskin long fingered gauntlet gloves are my preference.

That's a rather personal question.....Oh, you mean the gloves.....



You pull them off by the little amputated fingers. If you hit the pavement with them, your palms will be safe, your fingers will be hamburger. I accept this tradeoff when it gets really hot.

I hit the pavement wearing fingerless gloves in ES last year. Didn't even break a nail.

I don't like gloves because they cover up my nail polish.
And fingeress gloves cause a sun tan stripe on my hand.

Since I don't wear a helmet either, I obviously don't give two shits about max protection at the expense of comfort in the summer.
The fingerless gloves give me good purchase on the grips w/o palmsweat, and don't have fingers to bunch up on the controls.
Plus, they make my hands tan funny, which I like.
