The S/E 6-speed and the CruiseDrive 6-speed are two different animals. Wayne's bike, IIRC, is a 2007 with the factory CruiseDrive.

So what bearing shit the bed? The tranny output bearing, correct? If you're gonna break stuff, it's good that you do it right!!

Sweet, not envious of the work. And here I thought my inner primary bearing noise was crappy......

Ok, so got around to installing the rest of the goodies on. I ended up ordering the SE compensator, new clutch spring (recommendation of Smart Dave) and all new gaskets. Initially all I had was the inner primary bearing so I installed that and reused gaskets. Figured I was on borrowed time, so I went in again today to change out the gaskets and put the new compensator in. Stator looked great, no visible burnt spots or otherwise. Replaced the clutch spring, got everything buttoned back up and lubricated.

Initial feel is great. No more clackity clack when starting or shutting it down. Clutch feel is nice. My clutch was fine, did the spring swap in prep of some potential engine work when it gets nasty out again.

Thanks for the suggestions!
