Doofapaloozas I'm riding 1,200 miles to spend a week with some avid motorcycle enthusiasts I met on the internet, dear. What could go wrong? |

Pacific northwest had a cooler and wetter than usual springtime. Ski resorts stayed open there through July 4th. Very late spring. Down in Texas it was quite the opposite; we had a very very early spring and early summer. Now drought conditions throughout the state.

Beautiful area. Just got back from there today. Rode 70 out of Moab (roughly) through Grand Junction, and up to Steamboat. Then over the rockies and into estes park. 34 out of Estes is awesome!

Steamboat to Estes was great. Lots of bikes and they all ran great even at 12,400 feet. I recommend that ride over 34 highly.

Just don't ride US-40 from Vernal, UT through Dinosaur, CO, to Steamboat Springs, CO. There's a reason all the dinosaurs died there.

Mr. Margarita and I would definitely be up for Poncha Springs. If I couldn't live in Wyoming, that area would be high on my list of possible homes.

How about the last week of June? That way we can be home by the 4th for family stuff.

So did this die the West Coast death that all others in the past have?
If there is still some interest I'll look around for a place to stay in CO. Wife and I are in if we can make it happen. Otherwise it's Yellowstone in June for us.

Oh crap. I forgot all about this.
Well, my Out West trip next year will be taking me right around that area and about that same time, so maybe it'll work out to drop by.

I just turned this over to a crack squad of goon.... er, a representative cross section of the forum, I meant to say, who will remain nameless until such time as they foolishly choose to reveal themselves to be called names by you all.
May God have mercy on their souls. Stay tuned.
