how fast?

stock gearing 6000 rpm 02 sportster how fast would it be going..60mph = 3 grand on tach. i am thinking about putting a baker 6 speed in and am wondering if it's worth the cost..thanks

this does not take into effect wind resitance, so i took about 10mph off. next dumb question, for riding down the freeway what is the highest rpm that is safe for the motor? thanks

Took 10mph off. HUH, makes no sense to me, or did I just bite on a Doof being Dooffy.
Wind has no affect on RPM per MPH. Greatly affects throttle position and MPG.

Can run the motor at 3500 all day with out an issue, but since you have a rigid mount motor on a Sportster, going back to pick up parts may be an issue for running over 3k RPM.
