I take it you've tried the S-100 engine restorer on it? The stuff really brings back the black color. It's the same stuff you use to get the black crinkle finish back to a real dark black.

Try it, you'll love it. Just don't get any on your floorboards or God forbid, the tires! Trust me.

Mine's all faded too. Been thinking about repainting it. Then I'd have to take it all apart.... Then I might as well change the handle bars while I'm in there, run the wires internally, new cables...

That's all too much work...

I'll just leave it alone.

You could get a fairing bra and cover it all up. Saw a bunch of those last night at bike night.

So, Keith, how'd the peanut butter work on yer faded inner fairing?

Got pics? Or was the fairing peanut intolerant?

The last couple of days have been hell at work. I know I'm a slacker, but I didn't get to it. Will post up as soon as I do it and see what happens.

Ok, I tried the peanut butter, and I gotta say that I didn't notice any difference. I left it sit on there for about an hour, and rubbed it in 3 or 4 times within that hour. So, what do you think? Do I need to leave it on longer? Maybe overnight? Or is this just a hoax and I should go get one of the products mentioned earlier? Post up people, tell me what ya think.

I think I'd just cut to the chase and use peanut oil. Unless of course, the peanut butter doubles as road snacks. Not sure if I'd want to lick it off the fingers of my gloves, though. Hmmm, might be a legit use for those fingerless ones. Licking directly from the fairing could be dangerous too.
