They sure don't make it easy on a gal. And everybody wants payment. Bastages!

If it was something complicated maybe, but it's a simple swap out of the shock. Seems like a little too much sugar for a nickle to me.

It's a warranty issue. Take it to your nearest, most convenient dealer and have them fix it. Don't pay someone to do that, and don't accept any crap from the dealer. They live and die based on their customer satisfaction surveys.
Changing a shock is quite literally a 10 minute job.

First: its not a big deal. The greatest impact (no pun) of a small leak on the shock is the mess it makes. In order for the loss to actually effect the ride/handling in any real way it would need to get way low and that would probably take many months...and it still wouldn't be a major effect.
Second: It is one of the simplest jobs the dealer can do, even the worst dealer can do this and do it quickly. The most important gauge of a wrench's worth is the ability to diagnose an issue correctly. In this case, the issue is self-evident, so the tricky part is outta the way. Forty-Third: call ahead for appointment and see if they'll verify that they have the right part in stock. 7: Take it to CCHD and leave the bags at home. They're safer that way and not getting messy. 437: Don't fret about it; Not an emergency situation and amid your moving madness, it's not a biggie at all. It's safe to ride, ride it!
