As a legal assistant, I had occasion to visit one of our clients in the local detention center. Since the visit was under attorney/client privilege, the deputies just left us alone in the interview room. Alas, the call button was broken and when the interview concluded we couldn't call the good constables to release us. The client went into a panic at being caged with such a dangerous legal assistant as myself and nearly tore the door down in his efforts to escape. Took a good 45 minutes to attract anyone's attention. I suppose I could still be there mummifying four years later.

We didn't do much criminal law, thank goodness. I wouldn't have minded except they were all so damned guilty.
