Subtitled movies...
I refuse to watch them.
If I want to read a story, I'll use a book.

I really liked Inglorious Basterds, and that had a ton of subtitles.

I've seen some movies worth reading subtitles for, including the Motorcycle Diaries. It put Che Guevara in a better light than he deserves, but it was an interesting movie.

Movies: Basically they suck. Even the commercials advertising them are bad and those are suppose to be showing the best parts.
Last movie I paid to go see was "Looking For Mr. Goodbar". That cured me right there. Now all they are is profanity, bad sex and violence. If I wanted that I would visit my ex-wife.  Books: I love books. I read at least an hour every day. I have a collection of about 2000 1st editions of A. E. Van Vogt, Asimov, Bear, Clarke etc. and have read every one. The images a book makes in my mind are better than any movie ever made. I am also extremely cute if anyone wants to know.

I've noticed that most movies with subtitles are made in another country. It's American movies or nothing for me.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was awesome, and it was in Swedish with subtitles. If the movie is good, you hardly notice the subs.

I don't know about y'all experienced people, but subtitles are my savior, or I'm constantly asking the wifey...what did they say? Too many gas and diesel engines, airplane engines, motorcycle engines....I'm finding most movies nowadays have lousy audio, actors mumble, or the background sound is drowning out the stuff you're suppose to hear.
