Ask The Techs... This is the way it works. Post up your question in the appropriate Forum, then put a link to it here. We'll ask some very savvy folks to monitor the posts here and answer your question. If you are a Tech answering a question, please do it in the linked thread rather than here. In this way, we can build info in the appropriate Forum. Thanks. |

Tape a note on the face of the speedometer...

Does the GPS take into account elevation changes? One mile on a map may equate to more in real life if the road goes up a grade. Pythagorus and all that.

I'm not sure, but I do know that it's pretty accurate. I set the BSL's speedometer using the Garmin and the TTS. The difference between the GPS mileage and the bike's odometer going to and from ES last year (right around 2,800 miles IIRC) was less than a mile.

Hey! is the TTS anything like the old SERT, like say from 2006?
Mine has been 2-3 MPH slow since my last two tunes according to the radar signs. As in 60 MPH indicated radar shows 57 or 58 MPH. And.....the radar signs are dead nuts on with the radar unit in the cruisers when I drive by them with the car radar active.

I think you can upgrade your SERT to TTS for a very reasonable fee.

My speedo read 73 when I was actually going 70. That's about 4% high, isn't it? It also makes gas mileage look better by 4% even though it's not.
(Speedo and odometer both read 4% high on my bike before TTS) The speedo code for my 2010 Limited is 2260 (TTS). Now, I'm within a half mile per hour, depending on rear tire wear. GPS is extremely accurate when it comes to speed. (so long as you're not under a canopy of trees or in a tunnel). My bicycle Garmin Edge is accurate to within .2 mph. |

May have to wait till after summer and the quest to fix the problem begins anew. But from what I have understood the Old SERT was made by the people who now sell the TTS, but HD went with another tuner company?

That's correct, Tom. It's now way better than HD would have ever let it evolve to. That said, I am going to give the DJ Powervision a try on Elvis. If it works as good as I've heard I may be switching the CVO over to it.

Sounds like I'll be talking to my Tuner at the Vespa shop about a TTS.
