Anyone put a clutch in a starter before

I haven't had one apart before....got a service manual....doesn't look like it requires any special tools or anything....$30 for the clutch....any input from the learned ones??

Don't ask me how I know.
Mike I got to ask...... I can see some residual splatter but not much with the cover off....or am I missing something

wouldnt be the first time...

Not that big of deal, unless you let it run. I sure don't think you need to remove the starter fuse, just take the key out.

I have done this to check primary chain, just bumped it. Also started it once part of some other trouble shooting. I wouldn't do it in my living room, and if before Memorial Day, I probably wouldn't wear white.
