What's the best anti virus now?
I'm tired of Norton slowing things down. There has to be something better. Is Avast or AVG still the go to software? Which one? Something else? Is it worth paying for the premium or is the free one good enough? I gotta do something today so any help appreciated. Thanks.

Avast and AVG are still the go to antivirus products for the free consumer markets. The last I checked, Avast was edging out AVG in the performance arena, but both products do an excellent job of running thin and protecting your equipment. The free product from either will do fine. Take a look at what the free products offer versus the paid for product and make your decision based on what features are unlocked by getting the paid for product. Most times, the free version will provide all the services that you need.

I've been running the AVG free edition for 2 years and can honestly say I havent had a single issue.

Running Avast now on my Mac for the last few weeks. No issues.

Been running Avast for two years now. I switched after AVG started slowing things down

I kicked AVG to the curb over performance issues about a year ago.
