DVOM on the solenoid wire will tell you which
direction to go. Disconnect solenoid wire at starter. attatch volt meter, and turn ignition switch on. Read meter...no voltage, bad starter. Voltage, bad switch.

It was the starter button on the handlebar.
Did you know that's a $145 button? Good thing it was under warranty
