Follow up report.

I gave the dealer a chance to repair the three issues I found right away.
1: vibration on accel 35 -45 mph.
2: steering wheel off to the right.
3: vibration through out truck, 75-80 plus mph.

Number 1 was a TSB to index the drive shaft at the rear pinion. Fixed.
Number 2 they said they did a alignment. Got it back st wheel was in the exact same position. Not Fixed.
Number 3 they said they balanced the tires. Not fixed.

Got truck back from this visit and immediately found my R/F fender heavily scratched. I lost it! Had my detail dept buff out fender. Decent enough results but can still see scratches in clear coat in the right light.

I had a meeting with service manager and Chevrolet district rep. Went over my problems one by one. As soon as Chevy rep realized I was a hostile customer he left. By that I mean he turned around and walked away! WTFing F is that? I left the dealer. I had to or it would have been cuffed and in the back of a squad time.

I did a alignment in my shop. Put the tires on the balancer and found them off a total of 2.5 oz. Also found 2 tires with excessive road force. Indexed them on the wheels and one came into spec. I went to Goodyear and warrantied the one out of spec. Road test showed very little improvement at interstate speeds.

Had a long conversation with the dealer serv manager in a civil tone. Dropped truck off today and had the wheels and tires swapped with a demo. Same size tires but instead of GY Eagle LS2 they are GY Wrangler RS-A. Road test on interstate with serv mgr at lunch today. FIXED! WOOT!

I gave them back the POS Weather Tec floor mats. Warped so bad the gas peddle was interfered with. Refund coming. Monday the truck goes in to have the front bumper repaired from the tec trying to drill through it to mount the front license bracket. It goes below the bumper face. 41.

NOW I finally have a new truck.

Congrats on getting the resolution!
Drilled the bumper fascia?!?!
Ouch!
Can't help but think 80% of other customers with the same issues would not have had your success.
Now, what the heck is "road force", how's it measured and what's the spec for it?

As a tire rotates it is expected the weight of the car will deflect the tire evenly as it spins. If a section of tire is stiff, then every time it rolls over the stiff section it won't deflect as much and creates a vibration feel. This can be measured on a specialized balancer that drives a roller onto the tire at a predetermined pressure. When the hard spot rolls past it deflects the roller. That force of deflection in measured in pounds. A light truck tire should be under 24 lbs deflection pressure or road force.
So even if the tire spin balances perfectly if it's road force is out of spec it will create the same felling as a out of balance tire.

GY tires are built square.

Best that I can put it.

Some of mine balance real easy, then two fight me. If I'm lucky 180° break down and remount they'll balance up with 2 oz or less on each side. Others I have to try it in 90° positions.

These are the Ford expeditions we use as our patrol SUV'S. 17 inch out of round factory steel wheels. Using GY "Pro Grade" LT M&S E ply tires, the whole assembly only weighs 90-95 pounds.

Wish the state would buy me a force balancer, but I get them pretty close, not too bad at 90 MPH...

Lots of free labor to make a new truck right.

Wait, it still ain't!

Odd that you had problems with the Weather Tech mats.

Got a set for mrs o.'s Equinox. They fit better than a glove.

Maybe the gas pedal is wonky in that new ride of yours.

The Weather Tecs I see in Cadillac's are horrible. I will guarantee there will be a recall forced.

Probably something your run of the mill tire shop does not have and only the upscale dealer would use?

It's the "new" hot balancer for the past few years.

Only Mom & Pop tire shops and smaller auto repair places probably don't. And The CHP state garages.

I've taken a new set of wheels and tires to a Ford dealer for a force balance and they tell me the tires are bad, I tell them maybe check the radial run out of those fine well built steel rims.

But Wranglers are better built than some five years back and boy are they pricey tires for being built so dynamically out of balance. (heavy spots on the casing)

You really have to wonder at the arrogance of a dealership that wants to try to BS a professional mechanic who works for the same major manufacturer.
