I've been to Anacortes a few times, but didn't get by there this trip. Cool place. I like to eat lunch at the Brown Lantern Ale House there in town, and then Washington Park out there on the tip of the peninsula is way cool.

My cabin is on Whidbey Island, so I just ferried over to Port Townsend then rode down WA-20 to US-101 (around Discovery Bay) and over to Sequim.

Will be up there again next month. Thinking about another day trip: ferry over from Anacortes to Orcas Island then San Juan (or Shaw or Lopez) Island and back.

I'll shout out when time gets close.

So did I! I'm a Seattle native. We lived on a hill overlooking Puget Sound,... just south of SEATAC. I wouldn't want to live there now, as SEATAC is way busier than it was in the mid-late '50's to early '60's. Dad used to take us down to the beach to go clam digging. Still love the place madly.

Its great riding a motorcycle around there because they legally get to jump directly to the front of the ferry lines and get loaded right away. Some bikers ride year round there.
