Pretty much confirms what I was thinking. If I wasn't going on the trip, I'd leave them on for a bit. As it stands, I'd hate to either have an issue with a blowout (again), or get caught in a rainstorm with not enough tread.

Good thinkin.......heat and high speeds will take that tire to nothing pretty quick. Saw Scabbys do its thing and another buddys do the same last year.

I won't use Avons.

I've looked at a couple of other brands, 'cause the ME880 for the rear is so expensive, but even though the tire life is crap, they work awfully well.

Replace....One thing I noticed in the last two trips since the new tire is the handling. If the tire is just 2/32nds it is probably somewhat squared and the traction is gone. You will be safe and the bike will handle better. That last part of the tread goes quick. I learned that just this past month.

I may go with an E3 radial up front, Dunlop doesn't make the size I need for the rear.
