Have you had any problems dragging footboards, cornering or bottoming out since you lowered your Ultra Classic?

You do know he lives in FL, right?
If your not an agressive rider or don't spend time in serious twisties at high speed, you "SHOULD" be ok. My UC isn't lowered and I can scrape on both sides if I'm riding it hard. Unless the vertical height is just too much, I wouldn't lower it.

Mine is lowered and I only drag them once in a while, but but long island is flat

i scrape once in a while. i've bottomed out a few times, but that would be in a good size pothole...fortunately they don't have many potholes down here.
then again my rear shocks are on the light setting cause i ride solo.
