Unfortunately, there's some truth in that. I think you'll find that to be true more in the east and west coast states/cities than in flyover country. Also Chicago, of course. You'll also find that while many, many rank and file officers, even on the coasts, support gun ownership and concealed carry for citizens, their way-high-up fearless leaders (read politicians in uniform) are often against citizen ownership/carry.
