DaSkoot is hurting............
I rode DaSkoot hard this weekend. Nothing ugly during 99 percent of the ride. Dan and I had finished our East Texas ride and were riding two abreast again. We were rollind along I-45 about 80 while we were passing a clump of traffic. I saw a new Challenger approaching at a high rate of speed. I didn't know if Dan saw the same thing so I nailed it, knowing Dan would follow. As I was trying to pass the car on the right at about 90 mph my valves seemed to float.
This was a very bad moment for us. Dan and I nursed DaSkoot to the first exit. We couldn't find anything wrong. Nothing seemed be amiss so we continued on. I could cruise at 65 to 70 in fifth gear, but when I went to sixth gear the engine couldn't supply the needed torque except on downhill runs. I am bummed. We had an epic ride. I get some pics up tomorrow. Go Cowboys!

Assuming that the clutch isn't slipping:
Do a compression test first, Skip. Easy to do; and will confirm that all the important parts (expensive) are working o.k. Next, think about the fuel line in the gas tank. Yours has the old kind that rubs inside the tank and gets pinholes; reducing fuel pressure to the injectors. (assuming fuel injection). Those fuel lines need replacement anyway, after about 35 to 40 K miles. Check the two-conductor wiring to the injectors themselves. The older models (than yours) had a problem that the injector wires would fray and cause the injectors to not deliver fuel to the throttle body. After that, and especially if the compression is good, might only be a failing sensor. |

Skip, did you find any codes?
It could be something as simple as a sensor that needs replacing. I forgot about the fuel line thingy. That sounds very familiar

Don't forget to check for sumping. Be sure to use heat on the drain plug. Apply pressure on the wrench and when it's hot enough it'll break loose.
