Noise cameras in New York

This is going to be interesting. According to this articleemphasis mine)

a noise camera works along the same lines as a speed camera—it detects a traffic offense, and mails a ticket to whoever owns the vehicle. Instead of a radar sensor like a speed camera, the noise camera has a microphone array connected to the photo sensor. A computer algorithm determines which vehicle in the photo was responsible for the offending noise, and auto-mails a ticket to the vehicle’s registered owner

What happens if there are 30 Harleys with open pipes or one of those crotch rocket mobs all with fart cans?

In Texas we were able to get red light cameras outlawed. I hope they can do the same in NY. But then again, it is NY, so I'm not holding my breath.

Some years back a group of us rode to Glacier National park.
At the entrances they had some Db measuring stations set up that would display the Db of the vehicle going past it. Some of the guys decided to see who's bike was the loudest.
