On the road again...
In and out of coverage. Packed up and leaving Mesa Verde. Headed somewhere, I think Utah.

Today we ride up on Colorado 141. All I can say is WOW! It's an incredible ride. Takes you through canyons, for about 150 miles. There was virtually no traffic at all, and brand new pavement most of the way. The weather was perfect, except for the smoke. Absolutely awesome. Tomorrow we ride to Jellystone. Dan;
If the opportunity is there, you should check out Rte. 128 from I-70 down to just north of Moab. Is along the upper Colorado River with lots of beautiful scenery and rock formations and very little traffic. Cons: 1. There is no gas after leaving Grand Junction to the turn off for 128. 2. There is no gas on 128 3. There are no convenience stores either. 4. It was HOT 5. It was HOT 6. Did I mention it was HOT This was the route we nearly ran dry. If you continue on I-70 another 20 miles there is a gas station you can fill up, then backtrack on I-70 and down 128. At least it was there in 2013. There is a resort about halfway down 128 on the north/west side along the river. It was the only place we found refuge and it had a restaurant that was open. We were the only customers. They have lodging and outdoor activities, but we didn't stay for any of that. You camping this trip, or hotels ? Have fun, and more pictures...

Hella cool. Good to know life hasn’t gotten in the way of a good road trip. I’m thinking of tapping out and hitting the retirement button here in December, but time will tell

In back home now.
It still amazes me how there are still so many places without any type of cell coverage. We camped at Yellowstone for a few days, then went down the road to Tetons National Park and set up camp there for a couple days. Went out to Jenny Lake and almost died climbing up the waterfall. Then the ride home took us on some fantastic roads. We went through Rifle, Co, then down through Creede, Co., down to Tucumcari, and back home to Texas. The one thing that took away from the trip was the smoke. It was everywhere, and sometimes so thick you couldn't see the mountains less than a mile away. It was nice riding through the smog of DFW again, I could actually see. Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Tapatalk

I have met many people that have never heard of Tucumcari. Been there a few times.

Used to be big feedlots there. Someone told me there is a local phenomenon that combines the fog and the smell from the lots: shist.
