I'm thinkin the Rush's were a good choice. Most of the ones I've heard sound pretty good and the guys who had them really like them.

As for the crossover, the stock Deluxe exhaust is a "shotgun" style and has a vertical crossover in the headers but isn't the stock exhaust on the Heritage a "staggered" system and if so, how in the hell would you do a crossover since the front cylinder muffler ends just about where the rear cylinder header bends and enters the rear muffler

I hear you, those were some great pipes! I have them on my Heritage and Taz had them on her Street Bob. Not shocked that the parts guys didn't even look at the right catalog...lol

Think you made a good choice with the Rush pipes. I almost went with them on my Ultra since I have heard nothing but good feedback on them and they sound great (went V&H to match to the FuelPak). My wrench down here says the Rush pipes are almost identical to the original SE II's in sound and performance and sells as many of them as he does anything else.

Tom, the crossover on those has a "S" shaped crossover pipe, that's how it's done.

They def. sound good. Parts guy said the same thing about the SEII's

We got 2" baffles. I think it was a good choice. They sound really good about 10 feet in front of the bike as well.

Yep... Like Harley said, the crossover starts about the middle of the motor where it connects to a pipe that extends rearward from the front jug header pipe. Then it uses a bracket that puts a lazy S bend in the crossover raising it about 3 or 4 inches where it eventually T's off to the rear jug header and it continues back a few inches.
