I could be tentative for late September, would then depend on funds. That would fall in the same time frame as the First Annual Junction Birthday Run. If BigAl and others were interested in doing it maybe the Annual Birthday Run could move around geographically? I know I've wanted to do Deals Gap a long time.

Just a thought.

Just to be the Devils Advocate
Is Deals Gap really a decent choice for bringing together a bunch of riders who may not of ridden together.

I think we would all hate to see something go badly

good point Baalz but I think as long as during rides on the dragon etc. we broke up into groups of 3 or so that had ridden together a time or two and STUCK to that small group plan which I know can be tough it would most likely be ok. Can get hit crossing the street so there's no guarantees of course, just have to play it smart I guess.

Yosamite Sam has failed to amuse us
Good for me next April or May to get away from the rain or possible ice.
Cops have been heavy in that area and the rice burners can annoy you.

Great move! Small groups are the way to handle something like this.

I checked Mid-September, but anytime in September is good.

The weather around these parts in August can be a little on the warm side IMO.

The Dragon is cool and all, but there are plenty of other less traveled roads in the area... the Cherohala Skyway is a lot more enjoyable on a Harley and a good bit safer. Plenty of good riding areas...

yeah, the cops were there in force when we were there.....I actually didn't have a problem with it.....kinda made me feel a bit safer, knowing that the rice burners couldn't do 150 mphs with all the LEO's hangin around every corner.....but thats just me.
