'75, '76ish Wide Glide Clutches..... anyone?

A friend of a friend has a 75, 76ish Wide Glide..

The guy that was working on the clutch a while back passed away before the job was done.

She asked me if I would work on it.

a. Is it not too tough a job, with the manual??

43. What's the job worth to do?

I don't want to tell her yes I'll do it, if it's not enough $$ for me, and not financially feasable for her.

Thanks!

What was the issue in the first place? That might tell you whether it's worth your time.

Chip....clutch work is usually pretty easy, it's just
nuts and bolts. Read the manual, follow it, and you
will be fine.

As for price, Check the dealer, if you can find one that
won't laugh at you, for their rate.

Adjust accordingly....you make some money,
she saves some money, everybody should be happy.

Chip,

I can send you and electronic version of the manual. Also I have the fixture to pull the basket if you need to. I would not think that should be needed.

MAke sure not to pull the clutch handle after you start taking it a part. It will cause extra work.

Email me if want the manual.

Shovel clutch--simple and occasionally works somewhat OK. I too have the manual digitally and the tools to do the job if you need them. It ain't anymore difficult than your clutch.

Hard to say what it's worth, since you didn't mention the state of failure or disrepair. What's your labor rate? If it's just putting in new discs and steels, it's no big deal to do it all in a couple of hours. If you have to pull the basket, then the compensator comes off etc.

The way she talked it should just be disks and steels.

My labor rate?

WAY too cheap most of the time, I'm really not trying to run a repair shop, just help friends out from time to time.

Thanks guys!
