I'm looking forward to it. I'll try to document the process as best I can along with the inevitable "Gotcha's".

You can have mine as soon as the 54's get here, they will have exactly 1600km (1000m) on them....

DJ. You could change the baffels in your exhaust and get a little better performance without too much additional loudness. I put the Fullsac 2" CVO cores on my 11 SG and it no longer sounds like a sewing machine, but it's much quieter than the Rineharts on the 05. I don't think the CVO cores will fit you exhaust, but they should have baffels to fit your stock mufflers.

Did you look at the T-man 590, or the Woods 555? If your doing head work, you could aways bump the comp and go with he 777.

Cycle Rama's 575's look pretty good too. When I do mine, that's what I'll use

So you can change out your baffles without remapping?

Yes and no. Yes, your ECM will make adjustments and no harm will be done. No, your bike will not be running optimally. Of course, it's not running optimally when it's stock either, so........

You can, but it's not generally done. It may run leaner, but not much.

Usually they change baffles, pipes and add a tuner at the same time.

I'm waiting for the new head pipes and tuner, but wanted the sound to change NOW.

Mike, how do you change the baffels on stock mufflers?

Apparently, it isn't what I once remembered. After looking at the intall instructions, it's somewhat of a PITA. The prices are higher than the CVO Cores too.

Here's a link.

http://www.fullsac.com/recorekit.html

A better option might be to buy a set of late model CVO muffler take offs.. Then replace the stock baffle with one of the three options for CVO Cores. It's soooooooooooo much easier to change than on the stock system. They have 1.75", 2.0" and 2.25" cores for the CVO. Most are using the 2.0" as I am. If you want a little more quiet, go with the 1.75". Those who like louder/deeper are going with the 2.25's.

If you go this route, you'll need the heat shields too because the CVO mufflers have heat shields just like the head pipes.

You can if you don't do anything to the intake.

The CVO mufflers are much easier to modify, but for what you'd pay for a pair there are better options available.

I've seen some go real cheap. I like the stock look of mine. That's why I went the fullsac core route.

They have the "meets EPA" stamp too.

For $200 you can buy pretty much any slip-on out there on Ebay or Craigslist, and have a much easier install.

Independent dyno testing has shown on three different bikes the Fullsac cores do nothing other than increase noise.

Been reading the service manual and searching engine how to vids. Looks like pretty basic stuff. Just nuts and bolts.

I still don't know what i'm going to do with the mufflers...yet.
